When I remodeled our bathroom about 7-8 years ago, this is what I used over all drywall (and hardibacker board) to waterproof it. It also acts as a decoupling membrane to keep cracks from affecting ceramic tile.:

Today , I worked alone, I got the shower stall finished, the wall behind the toilet and around the window done, some bulkhead work done over the door, I got the GFI receptacle wired , and figured out , I need 4 more 8 foot sheets of drywall.
thanks for the tip on the water proofing, my 22 year old shower and tub upstairs haven’t had a problem, neither has my MIL’s 59 year old tub and shower, dry as a bone. Just saying.

My drywall guy came through, he met me at the lumber yard with his truck and I got 10 sheets of drywall and 10 2x4’s and joint compound, that will get me through this job and some towards the rest of the recreation room.

This morning, I got my notice for my vaccination shot appointment, booked it for a week Tuesday!

Sweetie, dropped me off at the lumberyard, and then she stopped for fuel, and drove the BlackSwan home! She then did something she’s never done before! She drove the Terrain out of our garage!! I knew she could do it, she’s been terrified, she would misjudge and scrape the garage door frame!

Tile removal is always unpredictable but is steadily progressing.

East wall. Have to remove microwave

North wall. Mastic was stronger

Hole eeee! That’s going to require some attention! That’s looking great, Lonwane! Good idea to move the fridge.

Our back splash was just drywall , so I bought these plastic replica “tin” ceiling tiles and used RTV clear silicone to adhere them to the wall, they are 2’x4’ sheets so lotsa room to match up the pattern. They’ve been up there for about 15 years now!

Looks like that spot where you removed the base cabinets to put the fridge was originally designed for a fridge, based on the smaller upper cabinets.

Good work!

Steve
