Took a quick drive for errands. Seems noticeably smoother with new VVTs, this normal? or am I imagining things? Also tossed on a pair of new sneakers recently and haven't really driven it since the codes popped up. Wasn't rough prior, just seems smoother. (oh the new plugs probably helped)

New VVT solenoids will smooth out the engine, as will fresh spark plugs, new tires will smooth out the ride!

Today we cruised out to the country , picked up eggs, went for a walk , Sweetie is able to walk 1.5 kilometres as of today! That’s a good indication she’s recovering nicely.
When we got home the new trailer hitch for the Terrain was her, Thanks FedEx ! I will get that installed on the weekend, best to have my buddy here, just in case! I have to fish the fasteners through the frame so that’s amusing!

Went to see my Son get his commission to Lt.. The first of my boys to make officer !
And the Lt. Colonel who pined his bars on also served with him in Afghanistan !
and a group of soldiers he worked with showed up as well ! So a great day for sure ,Plus got to hang with my grandsons :)
The HHR is just so much easier to park in a crowded lot vs. my truck lol

Once again, had to turn over the keys to my daughter since her car was hit and will be in the shop for a couple of weeks. Bad timing because my other cars are pretty thirsty and as you folks know, our cars are great on gas.

This got me to thinking...I wonder what a modern HHR would look like and consist of? Probably based on the Cruze or Trax chassis. Probably AWD option. Definitely with standard four wheel disc brakes. Shouldn't be hard to do - just do a parts-bin raid like they did for the original HHR which is basically a Cobalt.

Took the BlackSwan out for a drive to Smithville, Ontario, a G2G with the_shmoo, thanks for the coffee and discussion of all things HHR!

We have a Trax, it is significantly smaller than the HHR. It also has a tiny 1.6L turbo that makes about the same HP as the 2.2 and gets the same mileage.

filled the fuel tank, 13 gallons and the total came to $61.00 My Land Rover would have used over twice as much fuel for the same miles!! Guess which one I drive back and forth to work...

Saw it in half and add a stretch in the middle, drop it down to HHR height, new body panels and presto - new version of HHR.

Made a bracket that goes between the 2 rear bumper connections. It made both much more solid so the bumper is a lot better now.

Added an led strip to it. Will wire that up tomorrow.

Also added 2 led lights for reverse to help the rear view camera at night.

Far away, brake lights only

Far away, new reverse lights

Close up. Brake lights only.

Close up, new reverse lights

Good job,
but I'm worried about their safety when reversing.
Be careful when parking, be afraid of a high curb.
