What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
During rebuild after repairs, I had to change out the timing chain tensioner as it was leaking like a seive.
Went to Chevy dealer and the gasket/seal alone was 2/3 the cost of a complete unit.
Oh well. Gotterdun and driving again.

I also have a length of PVC pipe with holes drilled in adapted to connect to my garden hose. Just shove it under the car. It’s long enough and flexible enough that I don’t even need to bend or stoop. Works pretty well but takes too long. Gonna drill more/bigger holes in it.

Yesterday P0010 popped up, slightly rough idle on and off, cleared it and it came right back, ran to the parts store(s) and on the second try
found GM/AC Delco 12679099 in stock for a bit more than the best price I could find on-line. The screen on the old one was perfectly clean. I don’t think the hood was open for more than 15 minutes, and would have been half that if I didn’t have to wipe up oil from the old part that dripped everywhere due to my carelessness. Done and done by about 3:30. Upon starting, idle was immediately smooth again. Today if I get a minute I’ll put a meter on the old coil just out of curiosity.

Before anyone says "I told you so", I purchase a thermostat from the local auto parts store.
Due to the circumstances this was my only option.
It was not a genuine GM part.
Needless to say after 3 days my temp readings flatlined.
GM part ordered and installed (30 minutes) and all is well.
Working on burping the system.
