Re: our modest little 2011 LS, during the last couple of days, we:
  • Took a drive to admire the ice n the lake
  • Got the oil changed
  • Added a little DexCool to the recovery tank, just to be sure
  • Topped off the washer fluid tank with the orange Rainex stuff (love it)

I just realized that having a car I like helps make me happy. I’m actually looking forward the detailing I’ll give it when the weather gets better.

This morning we went out for a drive to get essentials as there’s a snow storm headed our way, 3 days of snowfall! Since we got home the HHR was clear of any snow, 2 hours later we have 3 inches of snow ❄️!

A couple of times now, my remote start makes the car turn over slow or sometimes clicks like a dead battery, when I open the door and use the key, it starts right up. mostly happens when it is below zero. Maybe a new battery?? maybe move to a warmer climate??

I’ll dust off the snow while Sweetie clears the driveway, she is determined that I don’t do anything to injury myself and delay the process of recovering!
Then we are off to forage for food in the country, stop for a coffee and fill up the fuel tank for the weekend!
I just checked tire pressure, all 4 are at 35 psi.

It’s a balmy 41 F now with a high of 46 F so I washed the BlackSwan and then drove it to my cardiologist appointment for a stress test!

My second HHR. Old lady estate sale buy, still only 79,000 miles. Undercarriage is where the problems are. Replaced shocks/struts and front brakes recently, but clunking continues. Upon research, probably sway bar bushings. Unwilling to do myself. Gonna see what my local guy says.

I'm sorta on the verge of quitting. $500, tops, is what more I'm willing to give this car. (My wife also hates it.)

Talk me out of it
