What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
TOMMY TURKEY meets HHR
Today was the first day I've had to get out without my lil one tagging along. I had about 3 dozen minnows left over from Saturday's crappie trip so I took them with me in a cooler and a couple of fishing poles since it was supposed to be 87 degrees. I've been meaning to get my deerstand but I haven't had a chance to drive out to the farm and hike the 1/2 mile or so up the ridge. Just because it was turkey season, I decided to take my old trusty 870, my ninja suit, box call and folding chair with decoys. really I was heading to the nice, cool creek for some Sunday afternoon lounging. The hike began. I got to within 100 yards of my deerstand and there was about 30 turkeys in front of me all feeding and clucking. To my surprise THEY DIDN'T SEE ME. So I sat down and clucked a few times on the ole box call.
30 minutes later
TOMMY, meet Mr. SHOTGUN

I had her loaded down with my 15 foot steel deerstand, minnow cooler, fishing poles, gun and my camo hunting chair.

Thought about getting mine out, but then remembered I don't have money for insurance yet. Either way, it has to be out by the 26th because I made an appointment at school to get an alignment done. Getting the Lumina done the day before. They only charge $10 plus parts.
Came home took 2 pain pills for the arm, hands and fingers and went to sleep for a few hours.
My fingers are still stiff and sore tonight, the 2 coats of Wheel Wax should last 6 weeks or so. But knowin me, i'll repeat in 2-3 weeks just to keep em show ready. Will be alot easier next time, the hard works done, just upkeep now.
Ran Paddy over to the Enterprise rental car office to make arrangements for a rental HHR starting on Wednesday, stopped at the BP for a "voluntary mugging", came home and looked at the gas receipt while having a little cry.
