yesterday

Went to buy some wheels/tires from a CL seller only 15 miles away.

Brand new, correct size tires on perfect, powdercoated Kazara wheels. (see below)
The $450 he wanted barely covers the cost of the powdercoating.
The damn things look sooooooo damn good but universal lug pattern is not quite universal.
bummer.

today

I replaced all the wipers & the cabin air cleaner. piece of cake.

Onstar stopped working so I brought her to the Dealership.
$95 diagnosis fee will be included when they replace the sharkfin antanae and cable.
It'll be $100 total.

100K bumper to bumper full coverage extended warranty except what's not covered.

Maybe he can reglue my headliner velcro @ the sunroof while he's f'n about up there. That's not covered either.

Not really a universal lug pattern.

Thought seriously about putting the '06 together the rest of the way, but decided "bleep it" was a better course of action today and had a nap instead. In theory, all three members of the HHR fleet/herd/gaggle/whatever will have their Rallye stripes next week.

Neither. I am just Polishing it out to a high gloss. I won't say a mirror polish, I'll give in before I reach that level.

Hopefully you have some proper tools. I spent a year or two doing all my polishing work by hand then realized I could have done everything I'd ever touched in a weekend.

I'm no pro but have got good quick results using da
sander to around 120 grit followed by a blue scotch bright 3" disc or equivalent. Then step up with two maybe or three cloth wheels and compounds on small air tools.

Today I used the currently salvage needing paperwork HHR to store more stuff as I was cleaning out the hot rod beside it in the driveway. But I did get the rod ready for work tomorrow by adding a quart of oil, wiped down the dirty exterior and fixed two airleaks that the airbag system has had for over five years.

6/23 was the day. Got to take delivery on the new Metallic Black HHR 1LT. Later in the afternoon picked up the shiny new AR Haze wheels and Goodyear tires. Just have to wait out the 25-50 miles for the re-torque on the lugs then put the wheel center caps on. Already looks great & the caps will finish it off.

Cranked up Paddy and followed the real estate agent hither, tither, and yon. Decided not to renew the lease on my Charlotte office in October so I'm looking for a building to buy/lease here in K-Town. Might have found something nice, we shall see, having it inspected next Tuesday...fingers crossed.
