Drove Paddy to the office, had lunch with a client, now I'm back at home after spending 30 minutes removing "Splatted" Kudzu bugs from the bumper/grille/windshield. If you've never smelled a squished/splatted Kudzu bug, the stench of their little bug bodies cooking on the condenser is just lovely....

Loaded new calibration maps with adjustments to MAF, torque, and air load. It now comes up to 20psi quite easily and has more snappiness down low. I put some effort into smoothing out the power delivery. I haven't had the time to do much logging yet, but it seems mid range KR is reduced but there is still some under load. I'm going to focus on getting fuel trims and timing down before I make more air/torque changes. For others using (or thinking of using) HPTuners, here's a tip. I always open the last tables I've adjusted and inspect them before flashing tables and driving. When I did that this time, one of my tables had completely incorrect data. In my estimation, the settings would have been a surprise but not harmful. So remember, kids, always double check your work before flashing new calibrations.

**And always save or record the factory calibrations in case you need to go back to square one.

I save my tunes (especially the stock one) on a dedicated server that backs up once per day.

I ran again with the newest calibration and 2 to 1 mix of 91oct and 100oct. Boost comes up like a rocket. Really gave the BPV a workout.

Been looking at that web site for the past 2 years and I am still having internal debates about what I want. I do know that I want some.... Large 2 tone coffin on the hood or above the GM Chiclets maybe. Oh crap, I don't know.

I have a 2 large flaming skulls that I want to use but want to put them on automotive grade sheet magnets but I cant find anyone local. Each skull sticker is 15"X32".

Hit 500 miles on the new engine.
mobil 1 and a filter in the AM.
Then again at a 1000 .
Then i can do a few redline runs and see what's up ?

First thoughts on new engine , it pulls so hard in 5th gear at 60 mph , I can't wait till it's broken in , And i can really jump on it .

Maybe there was a few tweaks in the engine from 2008 - 2011 , But first thoughts are that this engine is a bit more than i've been used too in the last 3 years and 10 months. Or maybe my last engine had been failing for awhile and i had gotten used to the power band , Either way this is quite the gift with 88,000 on the SS .

SS = Still Smiling
