Drove Bob 2 the Panel to my office, where I'm still "having fun" preparing a court filing for tomorrow, lots of extra hours this week because on Sunday the 22nd we'll be flying The Cannibal Queen to the EAA AirVenture meet at Oshkosh Wisconsin.

 

I have to admit... Either I HATE YOU or am VERY ENVIOUS of you!!!

 

Sorry, but this is the first time since 2006 that we're going up there, its our "vacation" for 2012.

We'll take lots of pics, and I'll have my laptop with me so I can still do the "Moderator" stuff at night when we get to the hotel.

 

I guess I'll have to behave then, Mr. Moderator Moonlighter.

 

Took Morticia out to Advanced Auto Parts to see about picking up another can of Meguiars Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish, they stopped carrying, seems everywhere stopped. Damn, I LIKE it ALOT.

Gonna Order up 3 or 4 cans online before it's too late.

Then I noticed a big glow red sticker on a can of Purple Dupli Color Metalcast Paint, $3.85, there not gonna carry the Purple anymore, noy sure yet if just They arent or Dupli Color Discontinued it, the other colors are still at full price.

Nabbed the 3 cans they had left, came home and looked online for other Advanced auto parts stores, made some calls seemed each store had 1 can left on the shelf and one store had 2.

So morticia and I set out on our Quest, to get a few more cans of the Purple while they still had some, while I could get it, and save about $5.00 a can.







Five stores later I got 8 cans of the Purple, 2 cans of the Silver Base Coat (at regular price) I got 2 cans of high temp Clear, and 2 cans of brake cleaner.

Gotta redo my brake calipers and drums, and I have a few underhood parts I want to paint for the supercharger install.

You can use the Purple alone over Chrome, and Polished Metal they say.

Not gonna paint my chrome or polished stuff tho, just some pully brakets and such.

And the custom made HHR strut tower bar will be done in Purple.

All the Black plastic pieces under the hood will stay black, just some hints of the Purple here and there to catch the eye of close up viewers.

Alot of the hoses and other lines will be switched over to Edelbrock Braided Stainless Steel after the supercharger is installed.

Should look and run pretty Sweet once all thats Done.

I havent seen this stuff offered in Yellow, the Red Blue and Green are all still Full Price.

And at other parts store all colors are full price, gonna keep a watchful eye on pepboys and the others that carry it to see if they too drop the price of the Purple.

Has that Anodized look to it, the more color coats you put on, the Darker it gets.

Like a Candy Paint.

 

I washed and cleaned all exterior, detailed the interior, still haven't installed the seat cover replacements, that will be over the next few days, picked up new AC Delco plugs will change them tomorrow night, went down by the water, had a little R&R time , some bar-b-que and just set in for the night.
