What's the best option......

is this proof enuf??? we did this entire car ourselves, except for the upholstery on the 2 seats, everything else we did, took a long time with all the mods of the tail lights and smoothing the entire dash and door panels, but we took our time and got her done in 3 months, and that's only weekends and after work during the week, while trying to fight the awful 110+ degree weather... hard doing that kind of work out in those temps...
you guys are paying alot of money to get the boards painted, can't wait to get mine and sit back while hub just paints them and installs them for us, I'll have to prep them, but that's better then a $500.00 price tag after buying the boards...

I'll take that and say Thanx... I'm not even going close to that status with the HHR, altho hub would love to do that to this one, I still need to have the full function of the back hatch area and the back seats for the kids... I plan on throwing a pearl over her stock paint job SOOOON, gotta butter up the hub 1st... then maybe a few accents inside of purple... then she'll be done, beside a few cosmetic things, like the running boards, and the taillight rings, i like those, I already have my billet grille and love it...... I have my woofer and amp in the back already, soon as it's complete and I'm listening to it, I'll take pics of it and show you guys the custom face-plate hub made for my woofer... nice, and it hides away...

Goose...just find a junker HHR or order the boards and have 'em painted at a private body shop or even a vo-tech if you have one nearby. If Maaco can paint a whole car for $99, you can certainly get your boards painted for a lot less than $600.

Check EBay for the boards. I always see them. DOn't worry about the color, you can have them painted to match (or do it yourlself...).
I'm like the proce I paid for mine, Just under 17K, mines the 1LT and it had boards, chrome package, pin stripes, upgraded mats and the smoker package (later two I did not car about LOL). Since then I added fogs, limo tinting, the slash guards, a carbon silver bumper cover, hitch, and a 6" stainless tip. I am happy with the 2.2/5speed combo.
