Whats your HHR's Name??
Named mine "Violet" (obviously she is Majestic Amethyst) One of these days I'll get her detailed and photographed.
I think I should call her UltraViolet! I swear there are days when I think she is invisible! I've had more near misses where people apparently just did not see us coming since I got this car than with any other vehicle I've ever owned.
Is it an HHR thing? A purple thing?
Anyone else feel that way?
(I'm talking about people running or almost running stop signs because it appears they just don't see me. Thankfully I'm a very defensive driver and so far I've seen all these morons coming...but SHEESH, it's getting scary!)

I have a Black 2006 LT2. I was home on leave in February and I picked it up and got it registered so when I return home from deployment this summer all I have to do is gas and go. I named it the "Black Jack Express" for two reasons. First is because of the nature of the missions we run here in Iraq. Whenever we run or escort a convoy of desperately needed supplies (soldiers need their iPods, ya know), it's designated a "BJE", A Black Jack Express, meaning you don't stop for nothing and you get it there no matter what.
Second is one of the main reasons I got the HHR (not just the styling which I love)...My 3 year old Black Labrador Retriever, "Jack"...Jack loves nothing more than to stick his head out of a moving vehicle. It is his only goal and reason for living, I think. The faster we go, the more excited he gets, hence: Black Jack's express....
Before I deployed, I had a Ford Explorer, which I actually loved. Long story short, a few weeks before I deployed I was t-boned by a police car (of all things) who was racing through an intersection. Anyway, they were at fault and paid me an adequate sum. So, I started looking for another ride: one that had better gas milage than my SUV and still had enough room in the back so Jack could have his "Toxic Waste Zone" as I called it. While I was on the search, I rented a PT Cruiser for transportation while I looked for a suitable replacement. After driving the PT, I said to myself, "Self, you know, this car would be PEFECT if it wasn't so damn UGLY"...So, I started to look at cars in the same genre. One day I came across the HHR and the rest is history.

I affectionately named our new SS "Viki", short for Victory red.
My daughter approved, but my wife thought that was rediculous... She said it sounded like the name of a girl you'd pick up in the bar at closing time!

Actually I have been experiencing just the opposite. I feel like the combo of having a bright red vehicle and a new and interesting model has everyone looking at me. I swear that 8 out of 10 vehicles that I pass on the freeway are gawking at me as I drive by. (Nobody passes me!
)
With Elvira (my black Riviera) I constantly have people cutting me off or pulling out in front of me.
