doh....just read the recall notice..question answered - one piece above driver and passenger side doors.

So now that brings up another question why not EA pieces for rear doors?
Hey Grumpee,

I guess the rear was okay in the government tests.

So since they have to take off the weather stripping I'm sure my in channel vent visors are going to be a problem.

I don't think so the weather stripping in this means the rubber between the door and frame of HHR. If I am wrong, correct me...

Got mine today, not sure if I really want this done with the rubber being tore out and the headliner too. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but I think it could cause problems down the road with the headliner sagging and all.

You can always do it before you sell or trade it.
If you sell the care without having it done and it can be proven that you had knowledge of the recall you may be held liable by the new owner should there be an accident. With the litigious nature of people these days, I'd not chance it.

I look at this like those pads we used to put on the bars of our dirtbikes. Yeah it will still hurt when you wreck and smash your junk into them but it will hurt a lot less than it would with just bare steel or a thin cover.

Got my recall notice, anyone had it done yet?

It says they will install an energy absorbing material between the roof and front headliner in the effected area. Which means taking loose the headliner. Which means (given my dealer's track record) I'll get to clean grease smudges off the headliner when I get it home. And which also means the headliner will probably pop loose in a few months.

Or maybe I'm just being too negative...

IMO, if it's important enough for a recall, it's important enough for me to have fixed.

My families safety is more important to me than a little inconvenience. Plus, I will make very sure that the dealer takes care of ANY issues resulting from it.
