They will be sending out notices correct? I know I see it here, but would rather have the notice in hand first.

Yes, as long as they know you are the owner, which they will if you purchased new. Used buyers may take a while to track down. If anyone wants to PM their year and last 6 of the VIN I can tell you if the recall applies to your vehicle.

I just called Mr Goodwrench & talked to his daughter.

She says mine needs to be done - apparently their computer database lists every car in pains-taking detail. The confusing part was that she wanted to make an appointment for me at a dealership that is about a 3 hour drive from my home. I kept telling her that there's a dealer just a couple miles up Hwy 290 and she said it's not listed.

Finally after 15 minutes of arguing I finally got their website and gave her the name of it - "Oh, but that's listed as being in another town."

"Yes dear. It's one of those gated communities where the people are so rich they have a separate name & incorporated township for their subdivision in the middle of Houston and the dealer gets 'prestige' points for naming that as their address."

"Oh."

I always end up 3 hours away from where I wanted to be when I am in Houston.

Terrible Timing

What terrible timing for a recall. I was planning to sell my car starting this weekend but it looks like it will be delayed until I get this fixed. Nothing against the vehicle but my wife and I are planning on getting a minivan for our twin girls.
