It is technically the same as the recall on Cobalts, just uses a different part. They fill in the hole in the sheet metal where the air bag assembly would have been with an energy absorbent piece of plastic. The plastic will crush in the event of an accident and prevent your head from hitting bare metal on the door frame.

P.S. Its for HHR's not equipped with side impact air bags, has nothing to do with roof racks.

I am trying to decide if I want to have it done or not.

Thanks in advance!
I got my notice yesterday in the mail, I haven't decided what to do.....not sure if I want the dealership messing with the headliner.

I just had my appointment today to have the recall done. Everything seems to be the same no visual difference, no extra noise. Took about an hour.

Made an appointment for next Monday 4/14/08. They said it would take 3-4 hours. I'll provide feedback once it has been done.

I cancelled my appointment for tomorrow! I thought I'd wait a couple of weeks and let them practice on someone else's HHRs before I bring ours in!

I just took mine in long enough to tell me they have to order the parts to Hawaii and I have to bring it back in two weeks
