NOW there's a power steering recall on GM vehicles?! No, it's a warranty extension!
Wonder why?
To quote GM:“If power steering assist is lost, a message displays on the Driver Information Center and a chime sounds to inform the driver,” GM said in a news release. “Steering control can be maintained because the vehicle will revert to manual steering, but greater driver effort would be required at low vehicle speeds, which could increase the risk of a crash.”
Even though we have an '06 and it doesn't seem to be covered by this recall, the power steering quit twice, I didn't hear any chimes and it steered like a 1930 Mack Truck! I guess "Greater Effort" covers that?
Why aren't earlier HHRs covered by this power steering recall?
Alzonie.....
You might want to reread the FIRST linked article on the first page. Scroll down to the paragraph regarding FREE REPAIRS. It states owners of 2006 to 2008 HHR's will get a LIFETIME WARRANTY on the Steering Motor replacement (probably will need to have a failure before the repair is done, however)..
Since you paid to have yours replaced, you might want to contact a Chevrolet Customer Service Rep to see if there is a reimbursement available. You never know.

Not missing, but deleted during "Housekeeping" by the Moderation and Admin staff here. Such posts included those by a now banned member which were in violation of forum regulations involving foul and abusive language.
It also adds a lifetime warranty on the power steering motors for 2006-2009 HHRs.

but not found about a lifetime warranty
Perhaps my bad English to blame
In what part of the letter is written?
How to take this "lifetime warranty"? What that need a certificate from a GM or something like that?
