'09 Ss Problems!

I Bought a 2009 ss about 3 weeks ago, and its nothing but a pain in my behind!

The next morning after I bought it the engine light was on. I took it back to

the dealership, but they just cleared the code. They claimed their service

guy knocked the IC sensor off when he was cleaning it-BS. Well on the way

home the light comes on again. It was too late to take it back, so I planned

on taking it back the next morning. As we get home I go to roll the rear

window up and nothing! So by this time I'm really pissed, my wife dropped it

off that next morning. I went down there after work and the service

department said the IC sensor was bad, and that the rear window regulator

was out as well. I then went to the gen manager and said WTF, A brand new

car under 400 miles with this much trouble already! I told him I wanted a new

car or a full refund. He basically told me tough *****, their is nothing he can do

since the car is already titled. This Car has been the biggest inconvenience

ever since I bought it for my wife, and she's the one who carries our two

children around. It's been in the shop more than we had it. I've olny got to

drive it at full power the night we brought it home. This car is gutless witout

the turbo. I'm not sure if matters, but this car came from Houston TX. I

remember reading post of the same problems, and that car was from Dallas

TX.

under texas lemon laws you must allow them a reasonable number of attempts to repair it, before filing a complaint.

like anything new, there can be defects. give a few more times to fix it. if they dont, then demand a refund under texas lemon laws

i think i was one of the first with major issues like this. it's easier said than done guys. in general, you shouldn't have these problems on day ONE!!!! it should be no questions ask,get this man another car. i got my car july 7th and problems BEFORE i drove it home. it was late and the dealer was closed. long story short, didn't get my car back till jul 27th.

MM didn't they swap an IC pipe from another car to fix yours? Maybe it got re-sold.

But seriously I agree with the other posters, give them a little time to correct the problems and once it is fixed you will be very happy with the car. I do agree with the OP that it is rediculous that you have to deal with these problems on a new car.

I'm aware of how the lemon law works, I know there is nothing I can do yet. It's just so frustrating to pay $26,750 cash for a brand new car and haven't even got drive it since we bought it. Not to mention all the lip and grief I catch from my wife about the whole situation. Lemon Law states a reasonable time to repair, but who says how long a reasonable time is? The service department told me it could be 30min or 3 months berfore they get the part, they dont have a clue.

$26,750 for an HHR SS, I didn't know you could get one that expensive, especially with the employee pricing (3 weeks ago). Did the 09s go up THAT much?

There can be problems with any new car, I know it's tough when it's yours. I hope they get the problem(s) resolved because these are really great little cars/wagons.

I can surely understand that! I know its easier said than done, but give the service center a chance and perhaps suggest in a firm way that they need to take the part off another car on the lot. Hopefully they will fix all the problems and you and more importantly, your wife will be happy in your new HHR.

Good luck,

I hope that was sticker price and not what he paid as 09's don't cost that much loaded.
