Hello i'm Chuck first time poster long time readed. I have a 2009 hhr ss I need some help. I'm wondering if I can swap 2008 to 2009 ECM's without having to reflash for V.I.N Change.

The simplest answer is "Nope", swapping ECM's and BCM's requires re-programming to match the recipient vehicle's VIN.

 

Trying to find out if you are able to swap a hot rodded ecm and just program the v.i.n. without altering internal prior programming. I have built may truck it was a salvage and I,am not able to get a G.M. tune. Spotted a flashed used one hopeing to maybe purshase. Any input would be helpful. THANKS

 

That's a good question, maybe one of our tuner's can answer it for sure, but I think that in the re-programming you will probably lose the aftermarket programming flashed onto the ECM.
