SOund like someone driving with the E-brake on.....

38,000 on mine and brakes still have lots of life on them.

Question

Man I don't know what goes on in that car when I'm not there. Wouldn't you smell brakes burning if the e-brake was on?

Hard to say, I lease vehicles to agencies, some of the maintenance things I see, I just say....

But 100k miles on rear brakes is not uncommon.

Brake dust issue is virtually gone. The front wheels look just like the rears. Before replacing brakes the fronts got much dirtier than the rears - big improvement.

I also have a front brake dust issue. What kind of (brand) brakes did you have installed on your SS?

Wagner ThermoQuiet pads. Had them installed at Monro Muffler Brake & Service.

Good info to know, I hate how the fronts get covered in brake dust, it drives me NUTS!

Consider yourself lucky with 27K for new brakes, my MINI cooper S only lasted 18K before needing front and then another 5K and the rears went. The fronts went again at 39K. Stopped like a beast, but good stopping power comes with a tradeoff (brake life).

At 1000 miles I installed Hawk Performance Street Pads front and rear and now at 16000 miles I am very happy with very little dust and they are wearing very well.
