changing brakes already!!!????
For perspective, coincedentally the friction surface on one of the brake shoes on my 1987 Suzuki Samurai delaminated and fell off. I jacked it up today and found the braking surface laying in the bottom of the drum. I owned the car for 22 years and this is the first brake job I'm doing on it. The rear shoes ran about $14.99 and the front pads ran about $22.99 from Auto Zone.
For S&G's I checked the pricing for the HHR pads (std; not Brembo). Std are $24.99 and ceramic are $39.99.
What makes the HHR pads so special? It seems like the same amount of material goes into the mfg of either.

my fronts went out at around 55000km so yes brakes at the dealership were n350, and they didnt suggest anything else, i asked some questions here and went with the wagners, can't remember RPM or Napa, for 90. so far so good. i am sorry but 90 compared to 350 huge difference. however when my hubby changed them there was alot of uneven wear, the left side wore before the right, and on the brake itself there was uneven wear, not sure why yet.
