After tinkering around putting my shift light in, during which I had the ignition and lights on and off maybe 5 times for short periods (usually killed the lights), the starter would not work. I checked the clutch interlock switch (ok), and had about 12.2V at the battery. Disconnected the battery, charged it to 12.8V, and it started right up. So question is, did I just reset something by having the battery disconnected, or is the battery really so weak it could not handle that minimal load and discharge? I also learned that once you hit the starter, you can let go of the key and it will keep cranking until it starts. Didn't know that, but it is normal with many new cars (maybe for compatibility with remote start?). Final thing is, did anyone else notice the heated seat circuit and fuse are in place just no wire at the underdash connector?

 

I did notice a different feel of the ignition when starting the SS auto from the '06 2LT MTX.

 

explain what you mean by no wire for the heated seat? We're thinking of having the heat pads put in on the drivers seat, they're not that expensive, would just need to get the upholstery shop to add it under the seat cover.

 

The circuit is live in the underhood fuse box (it even has a fuse in it). You will need a wiring diagram (which might be similar to a regular HHR) to figure out where it goes from there. The real advantage in using that circuit is that you have a dedicated fuse (labeled correctly), and don't have to piggyback on another circuit. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.
