Sounds as if someone made an offer that the seller accepted. I've purchased many an item of ebay this way. And "winning bidder" wouldn't be listed because the buyer didn't bid on it.

You are 100% right. That happens all the time on Ebay. Ebay tried to hold that practice down by listing the number of times a particular bidder bids on the same seller. That's why you will see bidders with no history because it is a friend that will create a new account so that there isn't any bidding history with that same seller. They go to the local library to create a new ebay account, that way the IP address is different. This has nothing to do with this car, it has to do with the dealer that has listed it. I am not stating that is what has happened here, but anytime there is a relisting there is a good chance that their buddy ended up the the high bid. They will test the limits of the other bidders and then the seller will contact the other bidders and tell them the high bidder reneged and offer the item to them for their previous high bid. Ebay is good but the bad guys can find a crack in any money transaction.

Having never sold a car on ebay, I don't know what the ebay fees would be on $10,000.00 but I'm sure this seller sold this car for more than that. More than likely, after $10,000.00 the fees are much more. If you are shady enough to have friends run the bid up, you can figure a way to cheat the auctioneer too. At this point, it is hard to trust anything about this sale. Pretty sure this happens quite a bit like Harley said.

You are probably correct and I'm not debating this...... But! You would not believe how many guys will bid on stuff without reading the listing, even very expensive items like cars, guitars, antiques, etc. In the other thread last week as soon as the "winner" bid I posted here "the guy that didn't read the listing just bid" (or similar) Not saying it's what happened, but it's very possible.....
Which ever, this seller is up to no good.

I sent the seller a message asking why it was relisted and didn't sell becuase there was no reserve. I got this reply:
The guy that bought it did not pay, claims he did not realize it was a flood, waitied 3 days to let me know, but that's Ebay I guess
Now I check the relisted auction again and it says it sold for $10,000. Kinda impossible since the starting bid was $11950.00 and doesn't list a winning bidder at $10,000. This seller went from sketchy to very, very sketchy.
