Just got the call... mine is cracked too. They've got to get parts from Outer Slobovia (and tiny tools from El Paso), so I get to drive whatever Enterprise has to offer for the rest of the week. Just an advance reminder for all... don't buy used cars that were once rentals

Also, in describing the situation to my SO, she asked if this was something that could break again (I told her about the "redesign" discussion I found on the web). She asked if there were any aftermarket parts that were better. That's practically an invitation to buy some HRC pipes (if/when they ever get produced).

my service mgr. said it was stupid for them to use plastic ic parts. he said aluminum would have been better. i said someone was working on an aftermarkt part for that. he said "really"???

My response almost to a tee. Apparently he meant "full shop rate"

BTW, now I'm having to jump through flaming hoops to get a loaner car. They don't have/offer any, and so they pawned me off on Enterprise... who doesn't have any GM cars on hand, and their contract with GM is that they only rent me a GM car... so instead of getting me back into a car to meet the spirit of the loaner car pitch I got at sales-time, they'd rather me walk.
