This has to be possible. i picture an offcenter hole in my hood sealed to the open top of my intake box. I dont care if it looks similar to the WRX's scoop. but i feel our engines would most certainly take full advantage of this. Any vendors want to take this project on?

Do a search on "cold air intakes" and you'll get a ton of threads on this both for LS/LT and SS models.

It's being done as we speak. Installing a bigger scoop, that will be mated to the stock airbox, with a custom made top airbox plate. In the procees of painting scoop, then will cut the hood to mate scoop to airbox.
