Update.

I took my car to a local shop that I have used for years for all my vehicles. They discovered that the ic is cracked using a smoke test. Couldn't see it by eyeballing.

The tech told me that it does appear to have been struck by something. So, it's absolutely no telling when that may have occurred and could have taken a while to fail.

I now think the service tech at the dealer diagnosed it correctly. However, the service rep botched the explanation in an attempt to look like he knew what he was talking about. Clearly he didn't.

Now my dilemma. Should I go with stock or upgrade the ic and piping with aftermarket? That's hypothetical of course but what suggestions can i get from this knowledgeable forum?

Depends if you want to boost more than stock, the stocker has plastic pipes and I have never heard of one failing at stock boost levels, some SS owner are running high boost through them with out event. However there are many that have failed on the plastic corners. Same situation with the rubber snake hot side pipe. Finding a stock one is easy, look in my garage, I changed to an affordable aftermarket, they have the capacity to make much cooler air.

SS Fan, what aftermarket brand? Are mods required or is it direct fit?

Well, my entire TMAP mounting plate blew out with TMAP still bolted to it after the GMTU. It was replaced under warranty with new factory plastic pipe. No issues after a few weeks but I'll let you know if it fails lol. I'm running 23-25psi depending on the conditions.

Thanks for the input. This is one of IC's I am considering because of the price point. Price was also a concern. Didn't know if the price was an indication of quality or lack of.

What do you mean SAAB just like our motors?

Good thing about life is that someone is always there to drop some knowledge on you (me).

CEL P0107 Error

I'm back to report that I upgraded my intercooler to a ZZP. I also upgraded the hot side charge pipe to a Taliaferro. The car is running ok but i keep getting a CEL with a P0107 - manifold absolute pressure / barometric pressure circuit low input. Gas mileage has also suffered. Apparently, the computer is confused.

The code returns even after having it cleared.

Is there something I can do about this error to keep it from returning?
