Anything is possible i suppose, I will try to remember to get a picture tomorrow when I change the wheel hub I damaged the sensor on, also im sure I could start a new thread on this or search the countless clunking noise threads but alas I shan't. My steering after all this work done is very scary driving on the freeway, the tires tracks any lines on the road. Also to recap, everything has been changed but the steering rack and intermediate shaft, also no motor mounts or tranny mounts have been changed, the view hole through the passenger wheel well only shows about half the nut, which I'm assuming is pretty worn given what I've read. Also get a clunking when I'm backing out of my driveway and I'm going down the sidewalk to the asphalt. Unknown if this is related but the bumps I go over feel like they hit HARD and are SUPER loud on the front. So I believe all the mounts/struts, strut mounts and bearing/rack need changing, would you kind gentlemen point me in the direction of those particular items I've had no luck with RockAuto
Not sure if it's related but the inside of the caliper piston right where the seal is has a lot of rust around there, the picture doesn't do it justice but i had already started cleaning it, I will get more pictures of the other three. Hopefully that solves the issue! Mucho rusto
The flattened out ear seems much smaller than the one Oldblue pictured. Perhaps it has been rubbing on something(the wheel?). It is also rusty at the edge, also possibly from being ground down from this contact with the wheel(or whatever).
