Sorry,

about all you people canceling your SS orders. I don't regret for one second canceling the RPD so I could get mine. But, Chevy/GM should have done a better job in research & development before they offered options that they could not support. Case in point, look at the people who are getting the Stage 1 update and all the problems that they have with that. Yeah, I looked at the Scion, but, compared to the HHR SS, it is just a toy. I'm not knocking it all together, it is a nice little ride and unique. And, you can do so many things to it in the modification department. Hate to see you guys leave so disappointed.

Sorry you guys decided to cancel the order, I was on the fence myself, but it looks like things are progressing now. They way winters can be around here, last think I needed was a new car so was happy to wait once October hit. I truly do wish you guys the best with the XB and Challenger, they do look like some nice cars!

I'm still going with that it was a matter of money at some point and R&D. I realize Bob Brown made the comment about a supplier issue, but I think we jumped to conclusions.

For me, it is too convenient that as soon as production starts back up (after receiving some money) the cars are being built. If they switched suppliers, I would think it would take some time to build up the internals and process to build the gauge (more than 2 months, anyways. IMHO)

I ordered my SS on 12/30/08. I saw the salesman the other day, and he mentioned that the factory in Mexico would be firing up soon. I ordered a lightly equipped model - just the performance package and stereo stuff, and the AA5 window thingie. No sunroof or performance display.

I'm not pushing to get my SS. In fact, I'd appreciate getting it after the snow, sand, salt, and road gook has been cleared away.

When should I start wondering if I'll get my SS at all?

You should be ok and not have a delay. The delay I and a few others had was due to the performance display. Since they're starting production up from the winter break, it should probably be about 2 months. I was in a similar situation, once winter came, I became *real* patient.

the only real delay was the performance display combined with the 5-speed trans. well, not really, more like a complete stop and then to a never.

you just can't combine these two options, you can get the performance display with the auto trans no problem. you can also get the 5-speed without the performance display.

after 26 weeks of waiting, i cancelled my HHR order on January 9th. On January 10th, i ordered a black challenger. guess what, after 5 1/2 weeks it came in. no delays or issues and i saved $8000 and got a lifetime powertrain warranty.

Nice looking ride there, Hurst. Glad to see you're happy with the new ride!!

Unfortunately the never does not appear to be true. My order is moving along in the production cue, and looks like it will be built around the Feb 23rd.

I commented in another post that it appears to have been a money problem. My order moves on the first day production starts back up? Makes it too hard to believe otherwise.

Will Hurst I to can wait no longer, I let the Dealer know today if they can't
at least come up with a VIN # to sell me the car before the zero 60 ends then I'm done, 7 month of promises is B___.
Good luck to all, since I'm sure they won't come thru.
I'll keep in touch thru the HHR net

By the way nice car
