Ramps for the SS
#11
I have used the UltraRamps and ramp extensions before on a low car such as the HHR. The extended ramp also makes it much easier to climb. I got mine at Wal-Mart a long time ago. I don't know if they even sell them anymore. We originally bought them for my sisters old Cavalier. The air dam on it would not allow it to climb regular ramps

Wow, those are what I would like to get. My Wal-Mart just has plastic ones. I'd like to buy locally if possible so I can change oil this weekend and not pay shipping. I will have to look at the NAPA auto parts store and Sears today, they were both closed when I was on my search last night. Thanks.

I built a set of ramps using 1" x 6" lumber back when I bought my first real car a couple years out of college, a 1987 Honda CRX SI. Same deal were the commercially available ramps would not fit under the front spoiler. The ramps are just 1 x 6's stacked flat on top of one another with a piece of 2 x 4 for the stop block. They are almost twice as long as most ramps with a real gradual rise. If I was to build another set today I would use 2 x 8's. I was living in apartment when I built the ramps and had to carry them from the basement storage locker to the parking lot to change my oil. I have used them on my Corvette and Mustangs and will use them on my SS. G.B.

I have a set of Race Ramps for my '03 Z06, which is much lower than my HHR SS, and they work perfect.
