Key word here is Automatic SS has arm rests (but that is regular HHR SS seats only). As far as I know no performance seats had arm rests, if I'm wrong I would appreciate someone posting the part #'s for the parts to add a arm rest to a performance seat. I already found the thread and part #'s for the regular HHR SS arm rest and seat.

My HHR SS is listed as a 09 model built in late 08, only the driver side is a performance seat.

Add a bit more of an armrest, with some searching you can find an armrest that can be added and be a bit more functional . I've got about $25.00 into mine.

The seat is worth it just to have them match as if you get an 08 with the option you will have two different front seats and it looks odd.
Ah. Mine must be one of the 09's with two standard performance seats then. I'm pretty sure my seats don't look different at all, and I know my car didn't have that option (only option was the stereo). I'll check the next time I go out there. Thanks for the info though.

All automatic SS Performance seat or not have two arm rest.

All manual SS Perfromance seat or not do not have a arm rest on the driver seat.

The seat backs are all the same in the SS no matter performace seat or not. Only the seat bottom is different. It is longer and more flat with more side boldster.

I have a 08 Automatic with the factory drivers performance seat and it came with a arm rest. In fact I never use it but I have it.

Here is the passenger seat I converted into a performance and you can see the stock arm rest on the drivers seat.

Excuse the hand print in the seat I had just reinstalled it. LOL!

Good stuff, so the GM parts for the regular HHR SS arm rests work on the performance seat or did you have to hit/miss it to find the right parts?

No read what I stated. "I have a 08 Automatic with the factory drivers performance seat and it came with a arm rest."

All SS automatics have two arm rest no matter if they have a performance seat or no perfromance seat option.

My car came with a performance driver seat from the factory with a arm rest. My passenger seat came from the factory with a arm rest. I did not add any arm rest what you see is factory.

I only changed the seat bottom on the passenger seat to convert it to a perfromance seat. Note the tag is neat the cup holders on the passenger seat since I used a cover from a driver side. The passenger was not available when I did this.

Only the 5 speed do not have a arm rest no matter if they have a performance seat or not.

OK

So I guess that would be a yes the GM arm rest parts work for both performance and regular seats, since the seat backs are the same.

My SS auto did not have Performance seats listed on the option sheet, but the seat-bottoms look like Hyper's, and they have GM Performance tags. Do I have Performance seats?

As I stated before In early Sept 09 the driver seat was made standard and around Oct-Nov 09 they made the passenger seat standard.

It is not listed because it became a part of the SS package at no extra charge and was no longer an option.

Well I would not say not entirely no extra charge as they increased the price of the SS each time.

So YES you have a Performance seat option.

Yes The arm rest are the same in all HHR's but note the seat backs frames are a little different from the automatics to the 5 speeds.

Some have added the the rest and made the needed changes to add the arm rest. There are threads here with what you need to do.

Here is what a friend posted to me on his addition of an arm rest.

"The SS seat back cushions are the same! The frames are not on the driver side! If it came with an arm rest the mounting bracket for the arm rest is welded on! If no arm rest the bracket was void unlike the passengerside which the mounting bracket bolts on! Our seats were from an 09' 5 speed SS so we had no arm rest when purchased! We used my original seats for the necessary hardware and bracketry in which we had to frankenstien the driverside seat in order for it to have an armrest provission!"

I have not done this but like I said look up the old threads where they added this and you can see what all is involved.
