Removing HHR SS Rear Spoiler

Hey Everyone,

I've searched for a few hours now trying to find out if there is a trick to removing the rear spoiler on the HHR SS. I am going to wrap mine in carbon fiber wrap and want to remove it to make the job easier.

I have the flush mount spoiler not the handle version. 2010 SS.

I'm assuming that there is just a ton of double sided tape that I'm going to have to fight with. I removed the 2 bolts but just wanted to make sure it was double sided tape and not something I'm missing.

Thanks!

Jason

there are the bolts and double sided tape that surrounds the whole perimeter of the spoiler..goodluck! lol

Probably going to have to use the old "fishing line" technique to cut through that double sided tape.

Go here and look. Especially post #6. There appears to be 3 plastic pins in addition to the 2 stud/nuts. And LOTS of 3m tape.

Fireman George, I just wanted to pop in here and say how nice it is for you to have looked that up and provided a link. I don't know why, but I have never been able to use the Search function provided near the top center of the home page (it just sits there while the progress bar slowly spins) and must choose a particular forum and use the "search this forum" feature to do a search. Of course, that usually won't give you all the info available on the subject. And we all know how annoying it is for someone to offer 'help' by suggesting you use the search function.
So I just want to say thank you, we appreciate you, and have a great day.

Thanks Sundance for the compliment.
Well that just s--ks that the Search function won't work for you. I use it all the time with no problems. Must be something on your end with your computer or phone. What, that something is, I don't know since I'm half computer illiterate.
