Saying goodbye
Well Monday I will be saying goodbye to my '10 SS, I am staying in the Chevy family though, I will be getting a Cruze diesel. I have been having some problems lately with the SS and just don't enjoy it as much anymore. I will miss blasting by people who aren't expecting it, I will hopefully get some room tomorrow to try and beat my highest top speed in it.

Well, I've driven the Cruze Diesel and it's pretty impressive, plus you'll get "Hybrid Mileage" without the nerd factor.
Someone, someday, will manage to stuff one of those "Oil Burners" into an HHR, they won't get SS performance....but pulling stumps can be fun too.
Be careful if you try to top out your SS one last time, and post up some pics of your new Cruze when you get it.

I am very curious to hear the issuees you have been having with your ss?
henm sure you will miss the power oavef the ss but I am also sure you will enjoy the cruze. My wife has a 13 cruze lt/rs.
1.4 turbo. 6 speed auto.
i really enjoy driving it tons of power up to 60. just not enough room or hp for me though. Good luck

Welcome adc. Hard to believe your SS is boring you, did you ever tune it ?
Would like to hear how you like the Cruise, might look at the new ATS it's got the third gen 2.0 block, they are making amazing hp with a tune....

Indeed let us know about the Cruise, I have been looking for the American car automakers to make a diesel car. Currently, I drive an HHR SS, and our family car is a 06 Grand Prix GT super charged. I have been eyeing the Cruise Diesel as our next family car. I am very interested to know how you like it. Though I have to say I do not intend to get rid of my SS and I am concerned that you are going to miss yours dearly. Best of luck to you.

Well, I have about 2,000 miles on the Cruze now. So far I love it, not as quick at the SS I had, but plenty of torque. right now I'm getting 35mpg in city driving, and I did one road trip and peaked at 50mpg. I love that it came with heated leather seats and MyLink radio. you can tell its a diesel at idle and slower speeds, I like to know its a little noisy. I wish it came available in a manual trans. The only complaint is that its a little small for 4 people, doesn't happen too often though. the oil change is a little more tough but it came with 2yr/24K free maintenance so problem solved for a little while.

Thanks for the update.
They do sound like diesels at idle, but I have a feeling that GM will take a page from VW's playbook and revise the engine mounts and soundproofing on the restyled 2015 Cruze model line-up.
Probably no manual option will ever be offered, too hard to make them meet emissions requirements.
