Service Air Bag

I have a 2010 HHR SS 5spd. On starting I get a Service Air Bag Message. If I restart the message goes away, does anyone know about this? My car has 37,000 mile on it.

You will need a sophisticated code reader while the light is on. It could be anything, maybe a failing battery.

Wink

Last time I saw that message it was a loose wire in a connector under the passenger seat. Victim of "aggressive Vacuuming again".

I suggest the battery because it happens on the initial start (battery drained from sitting then starter draw) then does not on restart (alternator has refreshed battery a bit).

The SDM needs at least 9 volts to operate.

There was a recall on my 09 SS, for an airbag system connector. Are you current on all recalls?

There is a TSB about corrosion. A reader that reads SIRS codes can tell which connector has a problem; you need the Bxxxx code plus the descriptor (the 2 digits after that).
