yes, I reported the problem on line in December 08, got a few replies; however, now many ss owners have noticed the problem with varying degrees of concern. One has allegedly gone the Lemon Law route, as have I and the posts on this spot will be used to justify the significance of the issue to different persons. One SS owner repoorts that most of us with the issue are stupid and without knowledge of cars; however, I disagree and we'll see. Will post the results of my test case on line next week.

I don't know if you're stupid (it doesn't seem that you are to me), and I know nothing about your knowledge of cars. I do, however, believe you've chosen to make quite a cruisade out of something that has not, in reality, and among the majority of owners, played out to be as significant an issue as you and a few others continually seek to make it out to be. Good luck with your arbitration. Is it binding?

The real question is are you just wanting the brake issue resolved like 97% of the people with this issue, if not what are you out for?

Most people are tickled to see a fix looks to finally be here.

Have you contacted the dealer yet to have the new vac pump put on that should solve this issue? Most people here only want a fix and it looks as if it is now becoming available.

By the low post count from NC I take it your also GIJOE too?

If your going to court your going to need more than posts on a web site.

Good luck, I hope you get what you are after.

The parts are shipped by TAC to the Service Department for installation and I am sure they are currently in limited supply.
Sorry for the late reply, but just saw this today the thread from a couple days back that there is a possible fix....how does a dealer go about requesting these parts?

I would like to contact my dealer ASAP for them to get that brought in for me. Is there a specific part number?

Last week, with the SS in for another issue, I had them look at the brakes again after a reflash of the ECM a month after I bought it in April, didn't really work. The service manager got right on it, after a tech almost backed into the shop door when pulling it out and wanting to move it to another bay, after it sat inside overnight..the brakes did the familar soft pedal.

He said that they fixed it again, with another ECM flash, but in the last week since getting back, I've had the issue twice. I don't want to be that squeaky wheel, but if its been told to me that its going to be fixed (although I wasn't getting my hopes up) last week, and it hasn't....

Thus, I would both be interested in this new fix, and, I have two documented cases in the past 8 months of ECM software flashes at my purchasing dealer to rectify the issue to no avail, and most importantly, the dealer/service manager's first hand "verification"/experience that almost resulted in a trip to the body shop, a week ago today...so my case for this is pretty strong, and fresh.

Edit: I'm in Canada...not that that should prevent the dealer from accessing the TAC centre, but just want to make sure I have all the info and part numbers etc to pass onto the dealer....thanks in advance.

How did your parents case turn out? I have a hearing on Monday 12 Jan 2009 with an arbitrator in SC. Would be interested in anything they can provide which would help me in my Lemon Law issue. You can send the information directly to: a32766@gmail.com, thanks in advance,

No I'm not stupid, but you are for even having the gall to make such a comment. You and Hyperv6 seem to me to be GM reps or employees as you have no clue but talk and act like you do.

yes, and it seems that there are several varied opinions and not all are on the same sheet of music. Would like to get my original dealers service manager in to testify; however, he refuses to get involved. His comment to me was, "there is no fix and GM won't acknowledge the issue because they are afraid of a recall!" Seems those that don't have the problem think that the rest of us, with the problem, are "trouble makers" Only wish Hyperv6 or a couple of he others could experince the thrill of having no brakes long after the car has had time to establish brake vacuum or pressure or whatever causes them to fad. As previously mentioned, I have a 2007 Solstice with the same engine drive train, etc. and it has no problems at any time with stopping. Something is really amiss and I intend to get to the bottom of it, with or without, help.
