I'm looking for a turbo timer for my SS, and was wondering if anyone has installed a turbo timer in their SS yet?
If so, what kind?

 

Not all will share my opinion, but if you don't drive it like it's hot the last few minutes of all your trips, or just let it sit there for a few minutes ) longer for longer drives then you really don't need to waste the money on a turbo timer. Just my thoughts. I have had turbo'd cars for a couple years now and never had a need for a TT or a problem without one.

 

I have one I'm installing its a Greddy...I am looking at the wiring harness now got the schematics from the dealer..

 

Read your manual. You don't need one. This has been discussed on several other modern turbo cars and a turbo timer is now a waste of money.

 

correct it may be a waste of $$$$$ but when you have 2 sitting in the garage I'm going to use mine..+ the neat features it does

The new GReddy Full Auto Timers pack tons of features in one economical, compact unit. In addition to two standard programmable count down presents (P-1, P-2) our timer also has two Auto Timer modes,(A-L, A-H) which estimates the driving RPM according to the vehicles alternator signal and then recommends a count down time. And now there is a Stopwatch/Lap Time mode, and Attack mode. There is also a built in Voltmeter and Speedometer. Still standard are the optional Parking Brake and Speedo Safety hook-ups.
So I'm using mine just for safety reasons on the turbo then its cool when the alarm sets in afterwards and it rolls up the windows closes the sunroof

 

I'd sell them if they are sitting around and buy an Aeroforce Interceptor scan gauge and get all kinds of useful info. It has all of the info you get and more.

 

Be very careful if you decide to install that unit...modern vehicle security systems (VATS) are very intolerant of such devices. And as stated here, it's largely unnecessary.
