Question Whistle & Clunk?

Just curious (not being too mechanically-inclined): My 09 SS makes a high-pitched whistle, followed by a "clunk" (sounds like a ball-dropping) when the key is turned either on or off.. the whistle lasts about 10-15 seconds..

Is it some type of pre-load for the fuel, or turbo, or?? Everything runs great--but I noticed the "clunk" after stopping the car one day.. Now, in my quiet home garage, I heard the whistle also..

Again--no problems, just curious what the heck it is...

I get the ball dropping sound on my 08, but it's not a whistle and its does it in a quick 1 second.

Clunk here, no whistle.

Kinda sounds like the tilt ball dropping in a shop vac when you turn it off. (if that makes sense).

There have been several old threads on this (one started by me), the clunk is the throttle plate closing and happens 1 - 2 seconds after shutdown. I had the whistle (high pitched squeal) as well, and that's the electronic throttle plate actuator.
No worries, normal.

It's your adams apple dropping back into position after an exciting drive. The whistle is nasal congestion, see your doctor.

Your near San Deigo your sinuses should be clean as a whistle. Unless down wind on a powerless F18.
