the allen wrench is only used to push the buttons (locks) located inside the steering wheel thats holding the airbag in place. Gently insert the allen wrench in the side hole and push. You will notice the side of the bag lift. Do the same on the other side. Once the bag is out you can follow the wires leading to the cruise control panel. I suggest removing the panel (only one screw) and unplugging the cable. If you do a comparison of the new cable and existing one there is only one extra cable (this extra cable will be used to connect the volume controls). The existing harness runs under and over parts inside the steering wheel so most of the members who performed this mod found it easier to cut the wires instead of trying to manually remove it.

Deb - it won't be much worse than this, OK! Just find the right wires and snip...snip..

OMG...now that looks like the wiring from hell.

Now which one of those do I cut Mike?

PNOY...thanks for the instructions...I'm sure once I get it apart it will make more sense. Appreciate quick instructions...will let you guys know when parts arrive and I get them put on.

Got buttons in. Took a little longer than five minutes, had trouble getting horn cover off. Got cruise control plug out with no problem. Had some trouble unpluging main plug on harness. Needle nose and a small flat screw driver helped. Well worth the trouble.

Well looks like I messed up the blinker return trying to unplug harness. The part that the harness plugs into is loose and the blinkers will not turn off by there self when you make a turn. Any help here?

Installed mine today, clipped the cruise wires, was easier, and just plugged the others in. Deb, you can do it!

it works like it was suposed to be there. no reflash needed. I wonder why this wasen't listed as a option for this radio.
