However, you are missing one feature – If you “hold” down the station change buttons it will then scan for the next station. Cumbersome to use, but it works.

I also found I do not use the buttons after installing them. I do, however, inadvertently hit the “Mute” button while steering and wonder what happened to the music.

I do like the balanced look of the steering wheel with buttons on both sides – it just looks better to me. I would do it again just for that.

A) if you have a bluetooth on the visor the mute could be handy.
B) the volume up/down doesn't work?
C) if you wonder what happened to the music maybe
1: you forgot February 3, 1959 (the day the music died), or 2: you don't need it or the hearing aids.

hehehe

Wow, the never ending thread...

I really wanted this feature but opted for an HHR that didn't have it. Good to know it's a simple and reasonably-priced add-on. Thanks for the info.

I know this is a dated thread but it seemed applicable to post here. I just purchased, through ebay, a 2009 Cobalt Leather steering wheel with all buttons. My intention was to install same on my 2008 HHR LS. Seems that the butcher that removed the wheel felt the need to just chop off the harness intead if unplugging it. I searched for the harness using the Cobalts VIN and found GM #10354210 and it's selling online for $86. The same harness for the HHR #25816515 is just over $13. Any thoughts on the HHR harness being useable? I'm going to order it anyways. If it doesn't work, I'm not out too much cash.

Probably the same, however you will need to match wire colors up, they changed the order a few times.

Hello,
I hope ppl are still engaged in this thread.
OK I just got a 2008 HHR LS.
I'd like to install the radio buttons because I plan to get the new Alpine iLX-007 (Apple Car Play radio), and install a after market radio button modulor.
I have been reading a few threads one saying that he went out and got a Cobalt SS wheel and replaced his HHR wheel.
Even though the wire colors were different he said it was plug and play.
That would be GREAT!
But the only one I found was used and over $200.00 with no guarantees.

In this thread one of the part #'s on the OP is no longer available (Control 15842365) but I did find it on eBay for around $89.00.
In respect to the harness my local dealership has informed me that there are 3 possible harnesses when he pulls up the harness # on the OP.
I gave him my VIN but it didn't narrow down the options.
He said theres a large connector with small, large with medium, and medium with small.
Even if I remove the bag were not sure if my connectors are large, small, or medium...
Theres only a generic picture so it's not clear in respect to measurements of the connector sizes.

Any direction?

I bought a leather steering wheel with the radio controls out of a 2010 LT2 and it went straight into my 2007 LS no wiring issues just plug and play!
