Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement (w. pics) - P0010/11 P0013/14
I think everyne that has had this problum should send Whopper $1.00, I spent $60.00 to have it scaned could not find the problum, $100.00 and 20 minutes, 4 years and still running great, thanks to Whopper.
Getting to the solenoids can take a few minutes, but sure, go ahead and remove the electrical connectors and clean them if necessary, and reassemble, and see if it comes back.
Be careful with disconnecting the connectors on the top of the solenoids - one or two people have broken the connector. They can be tricky to remove.
Does anyone know the parts for a 2009 SS? I just got the P0011 error this morning at 69K. No loss of power that I could tell. Should I reset the code and see if it comes back or just go ahead and change both Camshaft solenoids?
I'd just reset it - and change the oil and filter if it is about due, and see if it comes back. I suspect they would be the same part numbers, but don't hold me to it - you can check GM parts Direct online and you should be able to determine if they are the same part numbers there. I'll see what else I can find out as well - and will report back here if I can find out a confirmation or not.
I could not find the part numbers at GM Parts Direct, however RockAuto has the same part number for the 2.4L and the 2.0L, so you should be ok with the latest GM part numbers - I'll copy the info from the first page of this thread here for you:
