Sure - good plan. Unless a code and CEL is accompanied with a total debilitating issue (ie: car won't run etc.), generally there is no problem in clearing it and seeing if it was just a one-hit-wonder.

Getting to the solenoids can take a few minutes, but sure, go ahead and remove the electrical connectors and clean them if necessary, and reassemble, and see if it comes back.

Be careful with disconnecting the connectors on the top of the solenoids - one or two people have broken the connector. They can be tricky to remove.

Does anyone know the parts for a 2009 SS? I just got the P0011 error this morning at 69K. No loss of power that I could tell. Should I reset the code and see if it comes back or just go ahead and change both Camshaft solenoids?

I'd just reset it - and change the oil and filter if it is about due, and see if it comes back. I suspect they would be the same part numbers, but don't hold me to it - you can check GM parts Direct online and you should be able to determine if they are the same part numbers there. I'll see what else I can find out as well - and will report back here if I can find out a confirmation or not.

I could not find the part numbers at GM Parts Direct, however RockAuto has the same part number for the 2.4L and the 2.0L, so you should be ok with the latest GM part numbers - I'll copy the info from the first page of this thread here for you:

As of March 2013:
Here is a list from the Oldest to Newest Part numbers for the Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoids:
------------------------------
Intake 12628347 = 12646783 = 12655420
Exhaust 12628348 = 12646784 = 12655421
** check the last few pages of this thread for any further updated part numbers

and to recap on the CEL codes:
------------
P0010/11 refers to the INTAKE solenoid
P0013/14 refers to the EXHAUST solenoid

NOTE: they are SOLENOIDS, not "sensors"!!!! they are two different things, and parts guys sometimes makes an error in the terminology, resulting in the Customer getting totally the wrong part. So make sure you get the Solenoids!!!

And the Rock Auto part numbers are as follows:
Intake: __ 917215
Exhaust: _ 917216

The CMP sensor is that black thingy attached to the front driver side of the head between the oil fill hole and the oil filter.
