Fog light mod that does not work on newer cars

Extreme,

I took some pics last Sunday and they are under my QuickRick's member gallery or else:
https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/bro...=3&userid=9457

Where our newer cars are different is the tiny size and the shape of the switches now used for fog lights. (small round black switch)
If you compare it to the original post pictures you will see that difference.
Hope you can see these.

QuickRick

p.s. make me an offer on that Hazard switch and it is yours anyone. (06-08 regular HHR)

I'm sure the connections are the same on both traction control and fog light switch. I don't have a 2009, so i'm not sure! What about if you took and bought an extra TC switch and used that one for the fog switch and just changed the bezels? Is the TC Switch, ON/OFF or MOMENTARY?

Momentary Switch

Yup.

I thought of the TC switch too but it is a momentary switch as well.......so you'd have to push it each time too.

I know that on my HHR, if I engage the fog switch without the headlights turning on, it activates the running lights and fogs. Would this mod make my fogs run constantly or just when the auto lights engage?

If you have an 2006, then yes, they would turn on when you started your car and would shut off when you turned your car off.

That's interesting, my '08 has the same small, round buttons/switches as in your pics...

09 fog switch

Spirited,
All I know is that the SS and 09 HHR got the new console switches due to the movement of the window switches to the doors. Previously they were located in the console. I guess this drove he change.
Therefore if you have power window switches in your doors, you can't do this fix.

That would make sense, Especially if the 08 is an SS since that started the switches on the doors. Otherwise probably a general part change.

Further thought: does anyone know if the switches themselves, not the power connector are the same size? IE: Could you go out, buy the switch Mike provides and the matching power connector. Then pull the wires from the current connector, place them into the connector you just purchased and install the new button?

After some talk about this in another thread I finally got around to doing this to my other HHR. (Only took 3 years!)

This is such a great mod for '06 & '07 owners who like their fogs on all the time! Took about 20 minutes.

BTW, new part number: old-22724904; new-20934801, list-$21.72 paid-$18.46
