was just about to ask if this could be none , dealership in toronto told me no ....figured had to be away.
are the rear seats the same for all years ?(new to the HHR)

As far as I know they are all the same... But im not positive my seat came out of an 07, I would think they are though.

Not to bring up a dead thread, but I had some extra info for those who want to do this.....

In my 2008 Panel LS, you have to use a tap to mount the upper shoulder belts. There are holes there, but no threads. I believe I used a 12x1.50 tap. Yes, metric. Other than that, the directions were great.

Most likely, because the belts were never mounted, the excess paint could of stopped the bolt from starting. No problems with my 07.

That's brilliant! Thanks for sharing, and showing the finished product. I couldn't BELIEVE the kinds of finger-wagging condescending responses I received when I broached the subject elsewhere, the putzes.

Unfortunately, I bought the wrong model at the wrong time. I love my 2007 2LT Wagon, but I've got too few miles to trade-in on an '08 Panel without taking an excruciating depreciation beating; and haven gotten "a good one", I'm loathe to give up the one I own for another, despite the '08 incentives. Nevertheless, thanks for showing how easily, feasibly, and well it can be done!
