Boy I would have loved to arrange a swap with ya, but it is a bit of a journey. I pulled my box and have installed the seats (quick easy mod and many thanks to this post). But it is illegal here to sell "used" seat belts so the seats are non-functional till I fork over my hard earned cash to GM for a pair of new belts (ugh). Will fund and start that project when the warmer weather comes.

I've no intentions of ever reversing this mod. Haven't checked the Canadian laws but I highly doubt that there is any restriction on having windowless rear seats. There certainly isn't any restriction on the level of tinting for the rear windows (can black then right out), albeit there are guidelines for the front (driver/passenger) windows. The Panel is far more versatile with seats back there and I believe more appealing for re-sale when that day comes.

Just finished putting in the rear seat on mine. Thanks for the post. It helped when getting everything ready and not having to hunt tools. The only thing that sucked was tapping the holes for the seat belts (and taking my stereo apart to get the rear panel out) I did forget to get the little storage bin behind the seat, headed to the wrecking yard on Monday to pick it up. I got seat, belts and all mounting hardware for $200.

I just picked up some really dirty rear seats with a small tear in the upholstery for $55 from the junkyard. They couldn't get the seat belts out of the car though.... the donor car was seriously jacked up. Anyways, I took the seat to the car wash to get cleaned, a cost of $20, and they did a fantastic job. With any luck by tomorrow afternoon I should have the seats installed. Thanks for the tutorial!

and FYI: I used car-parts.com to find the seat and they had it listed as Gray, but it was in fact Ebony. Since the Ebony seats are really a dark gray, odds are most junkyards are listing it as gray instead of ebony.

As far as the lack of anything to do in the back seats, I was thinking of "installing" a couple of gameboys, maybe a link cable, and a selection of games. I figure that should be enough to keep my friends occupied on road trips.

Hello, Can you tell me how many spacers and the thickness of the spacers that I need for the rear seat belts? I purchased the seat belts from a salvage yard but they didn't have the bolts or spacers. They have been previously removed from the vehicle and who ever took them out didn't feel the need to save the bolts & spacers. Chevy tells me I have to purchase the seat belts in order to get the bolts and spacers. I know I can probably come up with the bolts & spacers somewhere but I don't know how thick the spacers need to be and which bolts need to be spaced out. Can you help me?

Pictures?

What happened to the pictures? The link to Photobucket was inactive and I didn't see any others? We have a 1/4 panel solid in the back, so we have seats, but I'd like to see one with the 1/2 panel and seats added.

I use my panel for work 95% of the time but do occasionally need a back seat for the kids so after reading this thread I started my search for parts....found the seat and seatbelts at a salvage yard, took the seat and had it cleaned and sanitized at a carpet/upholstry cleaners and thanks to this thread the install was simple and it only took 2 hours. The whole thing cost less than $300! Awesome!

Question

Did Anyone take pics of all the parts you got to Complete this install?

I most likely will have to order from out of state and have it all shipped, as our Local JUNK YARDS think they have GOLD for parts.

$200.00 for the seat ONLY. He only has a Gray, I NEED Matching Black.
$125.00 for Each seat belt.
and he had no idea what the filler part was behind the rear seat and was Guessing at $45.00 for it.

I do not want to order out of state and not get Everything needed and Matching my interior.

I am also thinking of ordering up the rear interior door panels with interior handle hardware from the doors they come off of.

Thanks.

Dang, I was hoping to go get this stuff locally Today and get it all installed.
