Well maybe we can offer a little insight on this topic! After purchasing something in the area of $200.00 plus dollars searching for the right bulbs / led's for our HHR here's some of our thoughts! V-Led's although pricey seem to have some of the best quality control! Here's a handfull of our applications:

Rear License Plate: (2) 194 Flanks in Bright White (V-Leds)!

Dome Light: (2) 194 Flanks in Bright White and (1) Festoon Bright White (V-Leds)!

Map Lights: (2) 194 X-Treme White bulbs (PIAA's)
(PLEASE NOTE: The V-Leds didn't want to install as the tollerences were to tight for pushing the LED into the map lights socket. The PIAA X-Treme White 194 are Bright and match close to the other V-Leds we have in the dome light)!

Also make sure to read the whole description on some of the LED's you may be considering. For instance some LED's have say a large amount of LED's but do you really need them to surround the whole lamp in 360 degrees? Make sure to consider an LED that is only forward facing or gives off 180 degrees of light such as the 194 Flanks!

Hope This Helps ,

I was wondering about the 180 vs 360 degree, so I'm glad you brought it up. If you don't mind (pm pls if you do), how much did the set up listed below end up costing in the end?

These are all of the lights I am planning on replacing
Rear License Plate: (2) 194 Flanks in Bright White (V-Leds)!

Dome Light: (2) 194 Flanks in Bright White and (1) Festoon Bright White (V-Leds)!

Map Lights: (2) 194 X-Treme White bulbs (PIAA's)

I used superbrightleds.com as I stated and had no problems with their products or application of their products.

You can see more on my interior lights in this thread

Sorry about all links in that thread, but it was before I turned on thumbnails on my PB account

What type of screwdriver do you need to remove the bolts? I noticed they don’t take a standard flat head or Phillips....
