A big THANK YOU to chevyhhr.net
Be it an LS, LT, or an SS. HHR's are what I call "giggle-mobiles", if you love to drive, our beloved little Trucklets will put a smile on your face no matter what's between the front fenders.
SS's just get you to "silly grin mode" a bit faster, but don't underestimate a Trifecta Tuned 2.2 or 2.4 running a Performance intake and exhaust, with a nice selection of "Go Faster" bits courtesy of TTR & ZZP.
There's a black '09 SS here in the Charlotte area who has seen the rapidly disappearing rear ends of my HHR's enough times that he seems to be a bit rattled when I get the jump on him off the line. He followed my into the Shell Station one day, tucked up behind me at the pumps and before I could even get the V-Power button pushed on the pump, he was right there asking "what the **** did I have under the hood, 'cause the dude at the car lot said nothin' could outrun an SS".
After giving him an HHR.net business card and telling him to join up, "it's free ya know", I told him about Trifecta Tunes, GMPP Performance Intakes & Exhausts, etc. And that I'd raced NASCAR Modifieds, drag raced, and had been racing in the SCCA for 32 years. Plus the secret to a good launch is "not to rev the nuts off of it, but to find the sweet spot where the clutch starts to take up and keep your wheelspin to a minimum without bogging the engine, and then you'll take off like a scared rabbit...and not sit there in a cloud of tire smoke".
I hope he joins up someday, nice kid really, gotta do something about his baggy britches and backwards baseball cap though.

Yeah, but it's Self Service now Oldblue, with George "Goober" Lindsay passing away and Jim "Gomer Pyle" Nabors being retired in Hawaii.
And Jim's health is apparently getting really shaky, so we may lose another citizen of Mayberry before too many more years pass.
That would leave only Ron Howard & Elinor Donahue as the last surving full time cast regulars still with us, along with about 22 or 23 semi regular Guest Stars.

This might be the perfect all around vehicle.
