No doubt the HHR is smaller inside than the routan. You can really haul a lot of stuff though. It's really amazing what you can get in it.
Lt2 is the way to go vs. the ls.

I assume the Routan is going to be a trade-in? If so, what is the trade-in value on it. Even though you may owe $6k on it, the trade-in value may take counter that. So if it does take down like $4500, that means you would only have to worry about the $1.5k left over. Now, for a lil calculating fun.

$15500+1500=$17000 + $1800 (estimated tax+licensing). $18800/72=$261.11. That would be without the APR%. Did not know what the tax and licensing would cost in your area, but kind of based it on what mine was, which was about $1500.

$6k upside down means that they are offering him $6k less than the payoff and that $6k has to basically be added to the asking price of the new vehicle. I've been in that position a few times...you just have to weigh the pros and cons and figure out if it's worth taking a loss.

Thanks guys.
chef is correct. I used KBB, its an 09 Routan SE, Good to VG cond. w RSE DVD system. KBB values it at aprox 13K. The HHR I want, dealer's asking 15,500. I owe 19,800 on routan. So IF dealer gives me KBB 13K, I'm 6800 upside down. So the 15,500 plus 6,800 makes it 21,300. I'm looking for 72 mo terms, 0 down. Credit rating about 500. It's the end of the month, sales quotas need to be met. Doing the math, do you think that a dealer can move the numbers around to give me a $275/mo payment. I do! I'm waiting for a call back from the dealer. He has not appraised the Routan, but it's in good shape, NO mechanical problems, just a little dirty with two slight, fixable dents in body.

I think realistically, you should prepare yourself for a much higher payment than the $275 you are hoping for. Keep in mind that dealers will usually not give you full book value on a car. There is some wiggle room in their price...there always is. With a credit score of 500 you need to be prepared for a very high interest rate. We ha to file for bankruptcy back in 2010 but my credit score is back up around 675. I still ended up paying 10% interest on my HHR. I think realistically you'll be looking at more like a $350-400 a month with you being upside down. I bought mine straight up no trades, my payment is $330 a month and I did do a 72 month loan. Yep I don't recommend it, but like you I was looking to stay under a certain monthly payment. Good luck with it though...they are fun vehicles no doubt!

Unfourtantly I think chef is right. My girlfriend has a Mazda 3. Total of the loan was 15,400. 4.9%apr. monthly payment is 275 a month. That's with a 700 credit rating. With little money down I think your looking at 400 a month. I hate to say it cause you seem like a nice person that wants something better.

I really hope it works out for you and the dealer helps out. The bottom line is if the dealer wants the sale they will make it happen. But they still can only go so far. Best of luck to you.

http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/hhr...html?sub=wagon Edmunds is an excellent site to help with that question.
Im pretty sure every year had blue, 2011 definitely did, and it looks like it went across all models.

Thanks man!
Well...here's to hoping it's a reasonable mileage, and maybe even an LT
Still anxiously awaiting his call back. Guess they're busy selling cars being it's the end o' the month.
