Nothing new on the car yet. Been busy. Pick your part finally has a sale today at a yard an hour away. Im not too thrilled. Workers are putting on a new roof and siding so I have to stick around. All that was tore up in a tornado over a year ago and insurance refused to fix it. They said my house was worn out anyway and they had satelite pics showing some of the same shingles missing before the tornado. So the whole claim was trashed. So watch out folks. Google earth is the new enemy of consumer help. To note, pretty much everybody else in my neighborhood got reroofed at least. Well except for the neighbor that keeps calling the cops on me. I was patching my house when that neighbors adjuster checked out their damage. I chatted with him and said that old house was falling apart even before the tornado. I said it even looks better now that the trash was blown away. I told him they were bragging they got the house cheap and were waiting for a big storm to get a free roof. Suffice it to say they never got their free roof Bwahahahaha. Well I didn't give up. Lawyers said its a hair splitting contest and not worth the money fighting a bad insurance company. So I went thru the FEMA process and regularly bugged the crap out of them. They wouldnt fix it even though they gleefully claimed that I qualified. All hot air is what they were. But they finally turned my case over to the Red Cross. They said FEMA has been mostly helping the city but they can help the people. And they are. The Red Cross is replacing my roof and siding with a five year forgivable loan. I have to stay here 5 more years and then the loan is forgiven. Thats a tough pill when your neighbors are haters, but ill take it. It will take me 5 years to wrap up life here anyway. Anyways, thats abit of whats holding me up right now. I also got cited into court for rebuilding Dads car. I have a plan for that one too. But that's for the next post.

Oh. Very important. I been in my house for 25 years. Been with same insurance for 20 years. Those other missing shingles were from other storms I didnt think worth bothering the insurance company over. Very big mistake. Because now I have insurance required by law thats not worth the paper its printed on. And no other insurance will take me with a damaged house. So never ever be a reasonable person with insurance companies. Dad taught be to fair when insurance issues crop up. That was a bad lesson in the gotcha world we have today. Always look to get as much complete rebuilding as possible in any storm issue. That will reset the clock on depreciation on any future storms. They got me on both satelite pics and depreciation. In the time I lived in my house, I should have had it reroofed 3 or 4 times. In this mean world, you have to take your due or you lose your right to it from loop holes.
