I just read that they don't even have airbags so there is no way they can meet U.S. standards right now anyway.

Where? Nowhere in the posted article does it say that it does not have airbags or for that matter that it doesn't already meet US standards.

I'm trying to find it again but earlier this morning the AP article said no airbags. The AP must have rewriten it since.

If it was in a different article cool. I know I didn't read anywhere in the posted article no air bags or anything about it not meeting any safety standards.
