Unfortunate advice and a gross generalization. Not every "employee" would do as you indicate.

BTW, the 60GB was already retired last year as was the 20GB. The 30GB and 80GB is what you buy now.

Whatever. I've just worked with too many people in charge of "lost and found" that'll call all their friends over to pick through the stuff rather than taking the time and responsibility to hang onto someone's iPod that was sooo important they went and left it in the bathroom.

If he really wants to do the right thing, just pick up an interface cable and see who's name is on it. If nothing's there, don't worry about it. Finder's keepers.

This is the exact reason why I took advantage of the engraving option for my iPod.

Also You could place an ad in the Lost and Found section in that Towns paper, just saying Ipod found, and a phone number. That would be the most honest thing to do, if no one responds in 30 days, well consider it yours, with the knowledge that you have tried all avenues in finding the rightful owner.

i can guarantee i would recieve about 100 calls a day. there is no personal contact info on the ipod so that would make anyone who can name one song on it theirs. the songs on here are pretty much Billboards current top 50. not very hard to imagine someone guessing any of the songs on it.

Quest,

If something happened to me and I had to leave my HHR outside of the men's room door with the key in it... would you take that home with you too?

Why would you even ask how to use someone else's property? Why would you bring it 150 miles further away from where that person lost it? Why not e-mail APPLE with the serial number along with the suggestion in the previous post.

So like if it were my Ipod... once you found your USB cable... would you erase my music and put your own on it? Would you even stop to think about whether I could replace any of my music? If you want a used Ipod of your own... try www.craigslist.com!

Have you ever walked through a store and had something important fall from your pocket and had a good Samaritan pick it up and say "Hey Mister... did you drop this?". Be that good Samaritan for the owner of the Ipod... because you and I both know... that you'll feel like crap each time you listen to that one.

If you do keep it... I'm glad that the only affect in my life will be to not read any of your future messages!

Walker
wow i missed this post...you must have missed post#3 and other posts where i have tried to call apple...i sent an email this morning and no answer back yet.

as a matter of fact i have no issue with you never messaging me again...i dont need a judgemental jerk who doesnt read all my posts to be my friend.

seriously, many of you here read the first post and then pass judgement...if so move on and stay out of the conversation before you put your 2 cents in.
