so im the stupid one if i dont check and look around for something i might loose thats worth money....now if it was some ball point pen or something worth $5, no biggie... but something worth 400 like an ipod or my cell phone, them im a total dumbass for not making sure i have it on me...
That's exactly the way I see it. Then again, I never had all this cool crap growing up, so when I did get something that was awesome, I took really good care of it, so I may just have that instinct more than others...

Still, that is a really good example of irresponsibility, and irresponsibility should be fought with, IMO, the utmost determination. If this kind of thing is what it takes for people to learn.. So be it.

my woman found it in the bathroom sitting on top of the toilet paper holder with the earphones wrapped around the player.

meh. What's the worst thing that could happen to an old bomber carrying nuclear missiles across the country without even knowing about it?

Yea... I was sort of in the class of "unwanted" ... I grew up in foster homes, and only one of them that I lived in were near well-to-do level, but when Christmas came around, I got a friggin' bag of marbles And living in large numbers like that, you had to really watch out for yours, or others would break it, steal it, or in some other way make it of no use to you. So, even now, I never lost the habit of being very protective of my crap

After this post I am going to finally let this go, but is it not within the realm of possibility that the person say received a sudden emergency call that so rattled them they forgot the iPod, as an example? Or maybe their car alarm went off and they had to rush out. Maybe they just left a funeral and were really distracted.

My point was that you have no idea what the circumstances were surrounding how that iPod got left where it did and to call someone stupid and irresponsible is just mean and irresponsible in itself. There are a host of reasons someone could simply have forgotten it.

Totally off topic, but I just thought of something somebody should invent (if it already hasn't been invented ): A car alarm that, when activated sends a signal to your cell phone. If somebody breaks in to your car, your phone lets you know!

Oh, wait... Onstar does this, don't they...

I think the alarm sent to your phone is out there if you want to spend the money. Little to high end for my wallet though.
