Sorry Solman...even though your door got crunched I had to laugh at your description..."popping a wheelie and slammed into the garage" Probably not funny at the time but it makes me chuckle thinking of the stuff I've done that has been similar in nature

Thumbs up

I'm now looking at the Canon S3 IS. More $$$$$ but it has 12X optical zoom. Also has lots of good reviews by pro photographers. I priced out accessory lenses for the A630 and it would be smarter to spend more up front for as much optical zoom as I can stand paying for.

12X optical? Wow, that's nice.

That's the one thing I miss about not having an SLR anymore (all my gear was manual focus and I eventually couldn't focus properly, so I sold it all). I had a 70-210mm zoom lense that I made great use of.

Your other thread got me looking at getting a second one. The A630 or A570IS is about as high as I can go right now.

Zipzoomfly.com has the Canon A630 for $189 w/ free shipping. But they're out of stock right now.

Best I can find the Canon S3 IS for is $286 @ BHPhotoVideo.com.

Trust me, it was funny. After the initial WTF shock, I laughed all the way to Home Depot for a new door.
