Ugh ...don't even give me that visual of Hillary please...iiicccccccccccckkkkkkkk

I was more talking not about debates but when the candidates would come into town and appear at a school or store or VFW and you could look them in the eye and talk to them. Clinton and Obama aren't doing that...big field house or invite only in someones home

How do you know he hasn't attended any funerals? Do you know this for a fact?

***I edited this because I started to give opinions on things and realized who gives a flying F-bomb what I think ***

he has publicly acknowledged that he has not attended any, he would say so if he did since it would be beneficial towards his ratings.

i never said anything about the war or how it has been handled or why we should or should not be there. so before you begin putting words in my mouth i think you should respect the fact that this thread has not been about what you are trying to start.

very true about the campaigning, i have been to obama, clinton, and guliani meet and greets here in san antonio and they are all private functions. public functions will occur later next year so you will get your chance then.

if you need a great example of someone who doesnt follow the status quo, you should look into congressman Charlie Gonzales...Henry B's son and a role model of mine. he is the only one to vote against every motion Dubya has put out there...he didnt vote against due to party bias, but because he didnt want to participate in the loss of liberty and fighting a war he did not see proper.

Actually there was no intent of starting anything...when I use the word "you" I don't mean "you" meaning you..I meant it as a general "you" term. Does that sense to you(and yes I mean you!)

That's why I edited the post because I didn't want it taken the way "you" took it..was not quick enough.

Just because some guy votes against everything Bush introduces....well not sure what I'm supposed to think....don't a lot of politicians do that

Won't be much time for public meet and greet if you say next year...New Hampshire votes first...last time they were much more involved this time of year.

That is all

I did not see the youtube debates, but the idea seems reasonable. Last two go rounds certain candidates had only hand picked audiences with extreme measures used to keep opponents and their constituents away from the tent.

I'm tired of the old ways, time for some new style campaigning, so the youtube thing seems like a good start.

Besides, they all "FLIP FLOP" and it is real fun shoving that back at them and watching them squirm. I mean if they are simply there to fiddle while we burn, I don't see why we can't try and illuminate their hypocrisy. The more these future 'leaders" are on tape, the more we can use against them.

They should fear us, not silence and exclude us.

Hmm, I guess I'm a bit adversarial today, eh?

I saw parts of it. I got very irritated at Obama, because I wanted to hear his answers. I had high hopes for him. But he prefaced each answer with a long "this is why I'm qualified to answer this and know best" - and by that time I was ticked at him. Anyone else notice that, or do they all do it?

I kind of liked Bill Clinton because he could answer a direct question... but does that mean if they do answer a direct question, they are probably lying?
