Best car movie
+1 for Ronin, Crazy Mary Dirty Larry, all 3 Transporters and many more mentioned here but
The scene where the cameraman gets killed by the Charger in Bullet is astonishing.
Steve McQueen did all his own driving in that famous chase scene.
Also French Connection has a great full speed 100+MPH chase scene
The Blues Brothers smash-up scene & Illinois Nazis flying off the unfinished bridge are my favorites.
EDIT - my bad "While McQueen did much of his own driving, it was CareyLoftin who piloted the Mustang during the hairiest stuff."

I would have to say mine are: Smoky and the Bandit(1st one), Gone In 60 Seconds(LOVE Ellanor), American Graffiti, Fast&Furious Tokyo Drift was ok, and Fast & Furious did have alot of muscle cars in it but the very end of the movie they make it look like there will be another F&F movie in the near future. For T.V. shows I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazard. I was one of those kids that grew up with horsepower and racing fuel in my blood stream, lol, being that my dad has always been a BIG horsepower and go fast guy, from goin to the drag races when I was young and then the Dirt Track Racing for the better half of my life now!!! There is nothing like goin to the local dirt track and watching the guys make 750++++ horsepower hook up on the dirt and haulin the mail!!!!
Bullit

Hot Rod Magazine Poll "The Top Car Movies Ever Made and the One You Voted as the Best"
http://www.hotrod.com/thehistoryof/h...ies/index.html gives a synopsis of all top 40 with click-able links to pix
It's 4 pages of rubber-spitting, metal-crunching, exhaust-belching, dino-smoking Internet goodness

The only one they missed that I'd include is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059170/ just cause I like the headlights
